In 1996 Ema Landis first came to America by way of Atlanta, as a Sous Chef for the Czech Olympic Team. After that visit, she knew she wanted to move to America. In 2001 she packed up her things and said goodbye to her family and moved to America, with the dream of someday making something for herself. Something that she and her family could be proud of and something she could leave as a legacy to her children.
Ema started cooking as a teenager and followed her passion for food into culinary school and earned her 4 year degree, with a focus on pastries. After moving to America, she quickly fell in love and started a family. Her family has lived in Breckenridge for over a decade.
Ema has experience as both server, and catering manager for local Breckenridge restaurants; Quandary Grille, Taddeo’s and All Events and Catering. More recently, she held the position as the Pastry Chef for Modis. At Modis she introduced the town to her semi sweet deserts, as well as explored her creative side and designed new concepts for her pastry treats.
Her new business, Mom’s Baking Co came from a burning desire on her mind to fulfill her vision for a European eatery in Breckenridge. With her kids away at school, she jumped at the chance to get busy building her dream.
