My KitchenAid stand mixer is one of my most prized possessions. It is also one of the most expensive kitchen appliances I own, and those of you who also own a KitchenAid stand mixer, also know that they are not cheap to buy, repair, or replace. So before I handed over my hard-earned cash for my first ever KitchenAid stand mixer, I did a lot of digging on whether these stand mixers are protected by a warranty, in the off chance something might happen to my marvelous mixer.
For those who don’t know, the KitchenAid mixer warranty in the USA fully covers your appliance for one year. That said, there’s a bit more to this warranty business than that. Let’s have a proper chat about what that warranty actually covers and how you can make a claim.
The warranty in the USA is really easy to get your head around. Where it does get confusing is when you start to look at how the warranty works in other countries, as not every country that sells KitchenAid has the same warranty conditions. Let’s take a look.
Does KitchenAid Have Lifetime Warranty?
How great would it be if you had an unlimited supply of free KitchenAid replacements, every time something broke or went wrong?
Well if you get your hands on any of the KitchenAid cookware, you will get a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty covers any manufacturing, material, or workmanship defects. It does not cover normal wear and tear or accidental damage.
And that’s as far as their lifetime warranties go.
Unfortunately, the same doesn’t apply to stand or hand mixers, which do not come with a lifetime warranty. Here’s how long the KitchenAid mixer warranty actually covers, depending on your country of purchase.
KitchenAid Mixer Warranty Length
KitchenAid prides itself on making the most durable stand mixers on the market. But like with anything over time, parts will start to wear down and eventually break.
The warranty length depends on the KitchenAid appliance and the country in which it was bought, but generally speaking, most KitchenAid stand mixers are covered only by a one-year limited warranty in the USA. This one-year warranty covers all 50 states in the US as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada. In other countries, you will find varying warranty coverage. In Australia for example, all domestic KitchenAid stand mixers are covered under a 5-year warranty, which is pretty damn good. Commercial mixers, however, are covered by a one-year warranty down under.
Remember, regardless of where you purchased your KitchenAid mixer, the warranty covers pretty much the same things. Most of us also have the option to extend the warranty by an additional 3 or 5 years. These plans can be purchased in addition to your stand mixer and you can get a quote here. If you plan on using your stand mixer on a daily basis, then I would definitely suggest that you consider extending the warranty. At the time of writing, it only costs about $70 to extend your cover to the 5-year warranty. If it was between my KitchenAid breaking or paying an extra $70, I know I would choose!
Any extra coverage purchased begins after the standard one-year manufacturer’s warranty. So if you purchase an additional 5 years, you will have 6 years of coverage altogether. Not bad, right?
It is also worth noting that each US state has different laws on how long an implied warranty of merchantability lasts so the one-year warranty that KitchenAid provides might not necessarily apply to your state.
KitchenAid Warranty Registration
Registering your stand mixer is the first step in ensuring your product is covered under warranty. Although it is not necessary, KitchenAid recommends everyone who purchases a KitchenAid appliance register their product with them.
So should you do it? I think so, registering your appliance does make your life that little bit easier. For example, should you ever need to make a claim under the warranty, or need to prove that you have purchased the product in case of any insurance claims, this makes verifying your machine a hell of a lot easier. Instead of having to turn your whole house upside down to find all the information on your KitchenAid product, customer service will be able to quickly search their system and instantly provide you with all the information required to make an effective claim.
Once you have registered your stand mixer, you will also get access to exclusive offers, and be amongst the first to hear about new launches and promotions, while also getting your hands on delicious recipes and tips from industry experts.
So if you haven’t already, I strongly suggest you register your stand mixer, by following this link to the KitchenAid website (it’s a super easy process to follow, and will only take you a matter of minutes!)
What Does The Warranty Cover?
Under the one-year KitchenAid mixer warranty, KitchenAid will pay for a free replacement of your stand mixer should your mixer fail within the first year of ownership. KitchenAid will send you an identical or similar model free of charge. Your new replacement will also be covered under the one-year warranty.
As well as your actual stand mixer, did you know that all the attachments and accessories that come with your mixer are also covered by the one-year limited warranty? If you were to purchase any additional attachments, like the meat grinder or pasta roller, for example, they will come with a separate one-year warranty as well.
When it comes to what is covered by the warranty, there is a catch. KitchenAid will not pay for:
- Repairs when the stand mixer attachments are used for anything else other than normal single-family home use.
- Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, or abuse of use not approved by KitchenAid.
- Replacement parts or repair labor costs for stand mixer attachment when operated outside the country of purchase.
If KitchenAid determines that your stand mixer has failed out with their guidelines for repair or replacement, they will not replace it for you and you will have to incur your own repair costs.
KitchenAid Mixer Warranty Claim
Claiming the warranty couldn’t be easier. If your stand mixers fail or have any mechanical defects, KitchenAid recommends you call their toll-free Customer eXperience Center.
You will need to provide proof of purchase so keep your original receipt handy. They will send you a replacement stand mixer, as the pledge of their KitchenAid mixer warranty, to the address you have provided. Use the box and prepaid shipping label to send back your original KitchenAid stand mixer.
Warranty lengths and how to claim differ from country to country. Take a look at the table below with the various different countries, their warranty lengths and where to contact them to make a claim.

Canada | 1 year | 1-800-807-6777 |
Australia | 5 years | 1800 990 990 |

If you are in any of the above countries and want to find out more about the warranty, I suggest looking at each country’s official KitchenAid website. Warranty length depends on the type of model you have. An Artisan might have a 2 year warranty but the Pro Line or Commercial might come with a 5 year warranty.
If your warranty cover expires, you might still covered depending on the damage. You will not receive a brand new or repaired stand mixer, but if your mixer doesn’t last a reasonable length of time, you may be entitled to some money back.
