There are few things better than the irresistible smell of a freshly baked loaf of bread in the morning. If you, like me, have a big household that all enjoy a slice (or three) of homemade bread as soon as it has finished cooling, it can sometimes feel like a never-ending cycle of trying to keep up the demand for freshly baked bread.
If this sounds familiar, you might want to consider investing in a bread maker that can make a large, or even an extra-large, loaf of bread. Most bread machines tend to make small to medium loaves, clocking in at around the two-pound mark. There are, however, a handful of bread machines currently that can do one better and make a whopping 3lbs+ loaf!
Before you get too excited, there are a few things you should keep in mind if you plan on making a large loaf of bread in a bread machine. For starters, you need to make sure that your bread machine can actually accommodate a large loaf. Some machines have a smaller baking pan, so naturally, they can only make smaller loaves. If you try to put too much dough in a small baking pan, the bread will not bake evenly and could end up overflowing from the pan and creating an anxiety-inducing mess.
Another thing you are going to want to bear in mind is that it will take longer to bake a large loaf of bread than it would bake a small one. Most bread machines have a timer, so you can set it and forget it. Just ensure you check your manual to see how the different baking times differ depending on the size of the loaf you are making and be prepared to wait a bit longer for those larger loaves.
If you are on the hunt for the largest bread maker money can buy, here are 6 of the largest bread machines currently available!

Which bread maker is right for you?
As you have seen, the largest size loaf you can get from a bread maker is a three-pound loaf. However, not many bread makers on the market offer this size. The West Bend, RAKI and Cusimax are some of the few that do. Machines that have up to two or two and a half pounds still yield large enough loaves for most families.
I find that machines with a horizontal bread pan make larger loaves, so if you want a larger loaf of bread, opt for a machine with a vertical bread pan.
